Kingman City Council Meeting, January 19, 2016
I was fortunate enough to stop by Tuesday’s City Council meeting. They had quite the agenda to get through. The Fire Department conducted badge pinning for a dozen firemen. What a great bunch of guys! There was also a vote on the property tax that was up for consideration. It did not pass. There were various other things up for consideration. I was most interested in the Kingman Crossing discussion.
The Kingman Crossing Planned Development District has been in the works for some time. It has finally passed. While I think its great news that this issue is moving forward, its frustrating that some parts will not be allowed. Basically, no pole signs and no murals.
No murals I can live with. But no pole signs? So we want businesses to move here but we don’t want anyone driving by to see who or what it is? Seems silly. Hopefully it won’t deter businesses from investing and building there.
At least it passed!
I’ll have a more in depth discussion on this and other things in my Prattle from the Porch monthly newsletter. If you haven’t already, sign up for it here!
